Self-taught figurative artist, based in London, England. Specialising in acrylics and often incorporating inks, embellishments and metallic leaf. All my work comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
Rooted in both modern portraiture and pop surrealism, my work explores the power and ambiguity of self-presentation. Fragmented and obscured faces against monochromatic backgrounds are a recurring focus, blending realism with abstraction. This deliberate concealment challenges traditional portraiture, evoking themes of identity, vulnerability, and perception.
My signature approach is characterised by delicate brushwork, layering smooth, sculptural gradients with bold, graphic outlines. The interplay between shadow and light reflects the dynamic between presence and absence, intimacy and anonymity.
Incorporating mixed media and layering texture, intricate patterns and colour adds a tactile richness and depth, hinting at the worlds of fashion, nature and dreams. These decorative elements echo the layered complexity of identity, memory and introspection. Cultural influences emerge through the use of colour therapy, folklore, and mythology, adding layers of narrative and symbolism to each piece.
At the heart of my work is often an expression of unapologetic female strength and emotion. Exploring themes relating to human existence and solitude, my subjects take a reflective, contemplative manner, inviting the viewer to question their intention and connecting both with a shared experience.
